An often overlooked reason why your content goes ignored, and tips to keep people watching your video or listening to your podcast, and coming back for more!

If you’re wondering why some people quickly click away from your videos or podcast episodes, never to return, the problem probably isn’t the content, but it could be your voice!

The reality of most programs

We've all been there. That $2500 course sitting in your inbox, full of good intentions but somehow never quite fitting into real life. Modules that made sense when you signed up but feel overwhelming when you're actually trying to implement them.

After 27 years in marketing and business development - from running a boutique marketing agency to working with clients including Serena Williams, to creating campaigns that helped sell companies for millions - I've learned something important:

Community and ongoing support are what make courses actually work.

And there's something else I've discovered along the way.

I wanted to follow my own purpose and support women I could relate to - women who genuinely care about what they're doing. I want to ensure that women are able to create the work they love to do in the way they love to do it, because this is a new era and we don't have to do what is "expected" of us but what genuinely serves us and the people we love.

Here's what I've learned:

When you're creating something from the heart, with purpose, so you can have ease in your life and feel buoyed by the work and connection... good marketing becomes an extension of that joy - that communication becomes about ease of connection. People find you rather than you having to chase them down.

Yet developing the skills to find that place requires something many programs don't think of or don't include - the community element that actually makes the difference.

Not another Facebook group where real connection feels impossible. Not 8 weeks of content dumping followed by radio silence. But genuine human connection, ongoing guidance, and the space to work on what's actually happening in your business right now.

A different approach

What if instead of another course you might never finish, you had access to ongoing business development support that fits how you actually learn and grow?

What if you could drop in when you need guidance, focus on what you're stuck on right now, and learn alongside other women who understand your journey?

What if there was no such thing as "falling behind" because you're exactly where you need to be?

Introducing Barefoot Businesswomen's Marketing

Fortnightly gatherings combining expert guidance with genuine community

2nd and 4th FRIDAYS of the month, 1-4pm, in the comfortable "play" room at my Northcote studio. Maximum 10 women around the table, afternoon tea provided.

- First Event on Friday October 17th -

What we explore together:

Business Vision & Design
Getting clear on what you're actually building and why it matters - and how to apply that clarity to your specific business

Authentic Connection
Finding ways to reach your ideal clients that feel genuine, not performative - with practical steps for your unique situation

Offer Development
Creating services and products that serve both you and your clients beautifully - turning concepts into reality

Client Ecosystems
Designing pathways for people to grow with you as their needs evolve - specific to your services and values

Strategic Foundations
Building the clarity and confidence to either DIY your marketing or brief others effectively - with actionable next steps

Tech That Works With You
Choosing platforms that feel elegantly designed and intuitive rather than complex systems that make you resist doing the work. Reducing subscription overwhelm, navigating AI consciously, and finding tools that bring ease and joy to creating and sharing while future-proofing your choices.

How it works:

  • Drop in when you need it - no rigid program structure or pressure to attend every session

  • Focus on your current reality - work on what you're actually stuck on right now and how to move forward

  • Learn at your own pace - pick and choose what resonates and apply it to your specific situation

  • Take home practical tools - workbook handouts for every session with guided implementation steps

  • Stay connected between sessions - join online Q&A sessions where recent attendees can ask questions and get warm seat support, while past participants can listen and learn

  • Go deeper when you're ready - additional 1:1 support available to work through your unique challenges

Who this serves:

The Creative Spirits who know business should be an extension of their values, not separate from them

The Deep Thinkers who need time and space to process, not rushed decisions and pushy tactics

The Sensitive Souls who want to grow sustainably without burning out or compromising what matters most

The Free Spirits who refuse to squeeze themselves into someone else's business model

Women at any stage - whether you're just starting out or ready to scale what's already working

This is for you if:

  • You're tired of advice that tells you you're doing it all wrong

  • You want to be understood, not fixed

  • You're ready to work with how you're naturally wired, not against it

  • You want to find your voice and untangle the stories in your head

  • You're looking for the thread to weave a brand that's authentically yours

  • You believe business can feel good at every stage of growth

  • You want community that goes beyond surface-level networking

  • You enjoy collaborative, interactive learning

This isn't for you if:

  • You're looking for quick fixes or get-rich-quick schemes

  • You want someone to do the work for you (just ask me if you’d like that)

  • You're not comfortable sharing openly in a small group setting

  • You prefer online-only learning

  • You prefer to be told what works and what to implement rather than seek solutions that feel aligned

The practical details

When: Every second Friday, 1:00-4:00pm
Where: 15 Spencer Street, Northcote (rear entrance)

Community platform for real connection and ongoing conversation

Why this works differently

No falling behind - because you're exactly where you need to be on your unique journey

Real community - not another Facebook group, but genuine connections with women who get it

Ongoing support - not 8 weeks and you're done, but sustainable guidance as your business evolves

Practical application - work on your actual business challenges with support to implement what you learn

Knowledge meets action - bridge the gap between understanding concepts and making them work in your business

Aligned with your values - marketing and business development that honors who you are, not who you think you should be

Your investment

This isn't another course that sits unopened in your inbox. It's ongoing business development support that grows with you.

At $97 per session (or $67 for Directory members), you're investing less than most people spend on a single marketing course - but getting ongoing access to expert guidance, practical tools, genuine community, and most importantly, the support to actually implement what you learn.

Want the member discount? Join the Barefoot Community Directory for $45/year and save $30 on every session.

Join when you're ready. Come when you need it. Turn your knowledge into action at your own pace.

Ready to turn your knowledge into action?

If you're tired of buying courses you don't finish and ready for business development support that helps you actually implement what you've learned, this program might be exactly what you've been looking for.
